Ken's New Play A Comedy Of Tenors Premieres this Fall
Ken Ludwig's A Comedy of Tenors will open this fall in a co-production with Cleveland Play House and McCarter Theatre.
One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? It's 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century—as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep the amorous Italian superstar and his hot-blooded wife from causing runaway chaos.
In his newest play, Ludwig transports four characters from his hugely popular "Lend Me A Tenor" to a Parisian hotel room for an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight. Directed by Steven Wadsworth (The Figaro Plays at McCarter Theatre), A Comedy of Tenors will open Cleveland Play House's Centennial season (September 5-October 3). Performances in McCarter's Matthews Theatre begin October 13.
